The mesmerizing beauty of Dattanagar BADC farm

Kushdanga Banyan Tree :
It is one of the attractive and recreation center to the inhabitant of Maheshpur and Jibannagar upazila. In the days of Eid festival and Pahela Baishakh the place is swarmed with all classes of people. Moreover, the place is used to Picnic corner. In the past many school in khulna divisions are visited Kushdanga bottala by bus with their students and several teacher. The popularity of this place is sink into the oblivion in the course of time. The reason behind that the authorities failed to attract the tourists and to manage many accessories for the tourists. Lack of proper planning and negligence of the BADC farm authorities is another reason for this failure. This place would be the most attractive place in the boarder area, if the concerned authorities take proper steps to build and maintain structural development as a tourist place for the nature lover peoples. This is the second largest Banyan tree in Jhenaidah district. It has huge prosperity. It is possible if we do this.

Padma-ganga beel :
It is one of the major wetlands of Jibannagar upazila in Chuadanga districts. With a land area of 135 acres, it supports a rich biodiversity and provides direct and indirect livelihood benefits to nearly a thousands of people. Padma-ganga beel is bounded by the village Sutia, Pathila, Sondaho, Tetulia and BADC farm Dattannagar. It is an important source of fisheries resources for Khulna division. The beel is a very important resting place for migratory birds flying in from the north. Padma-ganga beel is known as a good grazing land in winter. But, some greedy person have taken the ownership of this beel and destroying the biodiversity of padma-gonga beel. The beel contribute to the beauty of landscape both during the monsoon and the dry season. This unique natural system can be a major attraction for tourists.

Coconut Garden of Pathila Farm:
The farm’s extensive coconut garden is a beautiful place that will captivate nature lovers.

Kholshegari Field:
It is a place on the north side of Mathura farm. Gooseberry ( Amalki ), Tamarind & Coconut trees can be found on this road.
One of the attractive place for the localities specially in Eid days. People likes visiting in afternoon at this area.
Lots of water lilies bloom in the canal of this part. The water lilies and lotuses of Kholshegari Beel and the lined amalki and tamarind trees on one side of the road attract everyone.

Lotus Flower :
Lots of lotus flower are blooming in the Padmaganga beel at Jibannagar upazila of Chuadanga districts. Once upon a time this beel was full of lotus trees all over the place. As a result of bids for fish farming the beel taken by the local politicians has damaged the aquatic plants of the beel such as lotus, water lily, shaluk, kolmilota, dhonche, water hyacinth, keshordam, nolkhagra, topapana etc. In winter some guest birds would come to this area. But due to lack of favorable environment, they do not come now. I think some parts of this beel where there are lotus saplings on the side of the road can be saved and made a spot like Altadighi, Dhamirhat, Naogaon. The way to Sondaha village and New Tetulia village are preferable area. If this is implemented, the lotus flower can be saved from disappearing and the place will become popular as a place of interest.

Dattanagar Farm High School:
Dattanagar Farm High School ground is one of the favorite places for many.

Dargah of five saints:
It is located at Karincha agricultural farm.

Irrigation pump :
In the scorching heat, the BADC farm’s Dattanagar irrigation pump is now popular for bathing.

Ukhri beel :
Before going to Gurdah from Dattanagar, the road to Ukhri Beel passes on the left. Lotus flowers and some guest birds can be seen in this beel. Many people come here to take a boat ride and enjoy the natural beauty of the beel.

Vast Green Paddy Field :
The green paddy fields swaying in the wind on both sides of the horizon are like a huge green carpet which no one can take their eyes off.

Cold storage :
At the end of Pathila farm, on the way to Jibannagar upazila, one will see potato cold storage near Padmaganga beel.

Santals House:
Santals, the one of the major ethnic group and the most influential aboriginal tribe in Bangladesh. There is also a significant Santal minority living near the Padmaganga beel at Pathila BADC Farm of Jibannagar. They have their own religion and culture. The livelihood of these Santals revolves around the forests they live in. Hunting and fishing are their favourite occupations. Moreover, most Santals (both male & female) of here are engaged in farming and labor. Also they are deprived of their basic human needs and rights. They do not get any facilities and in most cases they are ignored.

Agriculture University (Proposed, not yet):
The long cherished dream of the locals is to set up an agricultural university here. Establishing an agricultural university here would change the face of the area as the place is environmentally friendly. The government should make the dream of the locals a reality by setting up an agricultural university in the area, expanding education and improving the quality of research in agriculture, adding a new dimension to the largest farm.

In conclusion, it can be said that all the above amazing places in BADC Farm, Dattanagar are best to explore in the Autumn and in Winter.
If you have enough time, then visit here. Definitely, it will give you much more pleasure rather than your expectation.
